locate and download Windows drivers
Driver Detective is dedicated driver update software to easily locate and download hardware drivers for Windows XP and Vista. When open Driver Detective, it starts to identify the manufacturer of your computer. Driver Detective will provide manufacturer specific drivers for your computer if successfully identified. For example, if you own a Dell computer Driver Detective will recommend drivers specifically for your Dell computer. We are using a custom built computer and Driver Detective misidentifies it as ASUS which is only the manufacturer of the mainboard. However it can be manually changed to "Use Driver Detective Universal Match Intelligence". When click "Scan Now" button, Driver Detective starts to scan the whole computer.
In our test, Driver Detective scanned 43 devices on our computer and found 21 out of date drivers, 2 devices with no driver, 11 up to date drivers and 9 system drivers.
