- CyberScrub BackUp lets you easily backup settings for Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Opera, as well as email and rules for Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, and Eudora. You may also back up your Windows settings and Address Book
- CyberScrub BackUp doesn't use proprietary archive formats as other backup programs do. It uses the standard Zip file format. This makes it very easy to restore data manually form the BackUp archive even if CyberScrub BackUp is not installed
- You may choose to create self-extracting archives that will allow you to un-zip even if you don't have a compression tool
- CyberScrub BackUp can also create BackUps without compression for faster processing and more redundancy. The files and folders structure is always preserved
- CyberScrub BackUp uses strong 256-bit AES strong encryption to protect backed up data. The AES encryption algorithm has been adopted by NIST as an FIPS-approved (Federal Information Processing Standard) symmetric encryption algorithm to be used by U.S. government organizations (and others) to protect sensitive information
- CyberScrub BackUp provides a version control mechanism that allows you to back up only changed files. You can always view the differences between the current files and the last BackUp in a special view box that marks them in different colors
- It can operate in incremental or differential modes to back up only new/changed files, or to delete from the current BackUp the files that no longer exist in the source location
- You may select external programs to run before the BackUp will start or after it ends. You may also shut down the computer automatically after the BackUp task is completed
- File filtering to back up only specific files based upon your designated criteria. Users may filter selected files using filename masks- for example users may choose to back up only .doc files in a certain folder or exclude all .exe files from another folder
- Backup to virtually any storage device: Local folders, Local Area Network (LAN), CD/DVD, removable devices (USB drives, memory sticks, flash memory, floppy disks, ZIP disks, JAZ, etc.), remote FTP servers, etc
- You can include your Windows registry in the BackUp. Important notice: this is an advanced feature should be used with caution. Restoring the Registry can be very dangerous for a novice user and may crash your system
- Built-in easy-to-use task scheduler allows BackUps to be automatically created without user intervention
- You can configure CyberScrub BackUp to send an email notification on errors, warnings or summary reports. Additional options allow you to attach the BackUp log file and send the email to multiple addresses
- The email notification feature utilizes custom outbound SMTP server settings
- CyberScrub BackUp creates extensive log files of all BackUp operations, including data source, start & end times, elapsed times, summary information, operation status, possible warnings and errors
- CyberScrub BackUp provides a synchronization option for your data- you may synchronize any files and folders from one computer with another ( such as your work laptop with your personal computer); you may also synchronize files and folders from a local computer with external locations such as: LAN locations, removable devices (floppy, USB Stick, Memory Card) or FTP locations
