Active SMART - Hard drive health monitor and files and folders audit tool
ActiveSMART is a well known failure prediction software for hard drives and disk space audit tool. It uses S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) to monitor the health status of Hard Disk Drives, monitors the drives temperature, free space, bad blocks, read and write errors, prevents data loss and predicts possible drive fails, using special algorithms.
Keep track on your files and folder and find files wasting your disk space. Just use Disk Space Analyzer feature of ActiveSMART.
Active SMART has several monitoring modes and is intended for both personal and extensive computer systems use. Various local and remote monitoring modes and alerting options are available.
Active SMART allows every hard drive in the system to be monitored 24 hours a day for faults, overheating or other hazardous factors that may lead to a crash. In case of error detection, there is a range of alerting options available: local (pop up messages, sound) and remote (e-mail or network messenger).
Use the same version of ActiveSMART on notebooks and desktop PC. It support power saving mode and save battery life.
No special technical skills are required in order to use Active SMART.

- Active SMART supports automatic disk check-up on system loading, constant tracking of the disks state with an interval varying from 1 minute to 99 hours, as well as performing a quick scan of the disks, in order to save the resources of the weaker machines

- Emergency system shutdown in case of hard drive overheating
- Active SMART can shutdown (enable hibernate mode) your PC automatically if the hard drive becomes too hot. This saves your important data and prevents the hard drive possible failure
- Previewing the raw values of the S.M.A.R.T. attributes
- This feature allows obtaining useful information, such as how many hours has the disk been working or the number of read/write errors etc
- The built-in messaging features allow the system administrators to get notified on an impending hard disk failure on any machine in the network, while the local alerting can be configured to notify the users separately
- Moreover, Active SMART includes an internal mail (SMTP) client for sending out email alerts, even if there is no email software installed in the system. It contains flexible logging features, supports system Event log and many other useful capabilities
