Although we use it to edit a small 32*32 icon, it feels like we are editing a big picture in Adobe Photoshop. Beside the impressive interface, the functions are also great. Axialis IconWorkshop is the only icon tool to support creation, reading and writing of Windows XP, Vista (ICO, ICL) and Macintosh (ICNS, RSC, BIN) icons. Axialis IconWorkshop supports Windows Icons up to 256x256 with alpha channel (smooth transparency) plus PNG compression and Macintosh icons up to OSX v10.4 (Tiger).
Axialis IconWorkshop has many build-in objects like background images, misc shapes and symbols etc. More objects can be downloaded from the company's website. You can mix some objects to easily create a new icon.
